Who We Are

Missoula 3:16 Rescue Mission is a ministry to the homeless and hurting in Missoula. We began our work with the homeless and needy in November 1999 through a street ministry under the Higgins Street bridge.

Our Mission is to be God's hands, feet and heart to the hurting, poor and homeless of the Missoula area as we share, care for, educate, and equip them with the healing and victory that is available through a personal relationship with God.

Missoula 3:16 Thrift Boutique and Home Furnishings is located at the corner of Front and Orange Street.  When Saint Patrick Hospital decided to gift their thrift boutique to a local non-profit, as one of three applicants we submitted our proposal and were very blessed to receive the store. What a great celebration on opening day, June 2, 2009!

Since then, the store manager has done a wonderful job in creating an atmosphere of a cozy but stylish boutique. Quality donated goods are sold as a double benefit to the buyer and to Missoula 3:16 ministry participants.  All proceeds from the store support the ministries of Missoula 3:16 Rescue Mission, but financial contributions are not the only means of support happening at this boutique.  Each day, people tack up prayer requests to the Prayer Wall and Boutique staff are available to pray in the dedicated Prayer Room.

Our Women and Children's Emergency Motel Shelter Program brings Thrift Boutique staff and volunteers alongside Program participants to build work skills and begin a stable support network with these families, often for the first time in their lives. Mentorship is initiated as short-term shelter is provided.  The mentorship process is then personalized through relationship-building to focus on strengths, resolve challenges, and plug into community resources.

Working hand-in-hand with all Missoula 3:16 ministries, the Thrift Boutique is the central distribution location for the Mission.  While food donations are brought directly to the Day Center, other donations of clothing or hard goods are brought to the Thrift Boutique for sorting and disbursement to the ministry area with the greatest need.

For example to distribute a recent large donation of blankets, image trying to sort and distribute those fifty blankets during meal service to the homeless at the Day Center!  Instead, the Thrift Boutique stored them for distribution of ten at a time to the Day Center, enabling uninterrupted meal service and orderly distribution to those most in need of these blankets in the freezing winter weather.
